Immigrate To Canada To Do Business

As aforementioned, Canada’s sole goal behind inviting applications to welcome immigrants to attract a human resource that can make a valuable contribution to its economy, grow employment and promote business in the Canadian state. As a result, it has become a hub for migrants willing to move to the west and work and settle. It wouldn’t be misleading if we say that Canada is technically importing high-quality human resource, given the attraction people have towards its geography as well as the business environment it has developed.

Under the Business immigration program, there are several heads under which you can get in. They are as follows:

Self-Employed Person

Start-Up Visa

Immigrant Investor

Self-Employed Person

To get in as a self-employed person, the applicant must have at least two years of relevant experience and must display an intention to become a self-employed person after moving in. Additionally, applicants must score a minimum of 35 points on the selection grid so you are proved as a potential economic contributor to Canada’s economy. The selection grid takes the following factors: Education (maximum 25 points), Experience (35 points), Age (10 points max), Language ability in English or French (a maximum of 24 points) and Adaptability (6 points max). The maximum points that can be scored on the grid is 100 out of which a successful candidate will score at least 35%.

Note: As of March 10, 2018, the Canadian government has stopped accepting new applications under the farm management stream under the Self-Employed category.

Start-Up Visa

For entrepreneurs, Canada has in place a separate visa category called the Start-up visa. The motive behind this visa is clear – the Canadian government is trying to promote the start-up culture and thereby the overall business economy. To be eligible under this category, the following are the requirements you must fulfil –

• You must have a Letter of Support either from a designated VC fund, Angel Investor Group or Business Incubator.

• You must hold at least 10% voting rights in the business and together with the designated investor, you must jointly hold at least 51% voting rights in the business.

• You must score at least the Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in writing, reading, listening and speaking French or English or both. This means that if you take the CELPIP, you must score at least a 3L on all the 4 categories. On the other hand, if you are taking the IELTS, you’ll have to score a minimum of 5.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 5.0 on listening, reading, writing and speaking respectively.

• You must have a minimum amount of money to support yourself and your family. The minimum amount set for each person depends on the number of family member he has. For instance, for the only person in the family, the amount is set at $12,475 Canadian dollars. For two members, it is $15,531 and so on.

Immigrant Investor

Immigrant Investor – Until recently, Canadian government was accepting applications from people who could make a huge amount of capital investment (at least $2 million) for at least 15 years in Canada. However, presently, the Immigration Department of Canada isn’t accepting new applications under this category.

Then, countries like Australia need to emphasize on attracting the best quality of human resource possible, so that instead of proving to be a burden on their economy, these immigrants contribute in some real sense. To make this idea practicable, this jurisdiction has introduced a migration scheme whereby people with skills are granted easy permanent resident without hassles. This not only benefits the Australian economy but also helps to facilitate easy migration for those who deserve it so much more. In order to be eligible for skilled migration to Australia, one needs to fulfil certain basic requirements.

From developed economies like Australia, it is expected that they have in place a machinery which is highly systematic, especially when it comes to choosing who does or doesn’t enter your country. You must be below 45 years of age to gain points on the Points test.

With visas, having a family member residing in the desired country of immigration usually helps. Until September 1, 2007, the Australian immigration authorities were welcoming new applications for Skilled Migration – Designated Area Sponsored visas (subclass 496), wherein if a potential immigrant had a relative living in a designated area, one could qualify for skilled migration even without qualifying the Skilled Points Test. Now, instead of subclass 496, willing immigrants can opt for subclass 489 visa or Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa, which enables skilled people to stay in Australia and work in regional or metropolitan areas for a maximum period of four years. In order to obtain this visa, an immigrant needs to walk either the Invited Pathway (wherein one needs to submit an expression of interest with details about their skills and occupation, and whether they will be sponsored by a family member or wish to be nominated by an Australian state) or the Extended Stay or Subsequent Entry pathway in which cases, the potential immigrant needs to meet the eligibility criteria, which are as follows:

Permanently Status For Skilled Workers In Canada

The Canadian Immigration system in place encourages those who can contribute to its economy and further strengthen it to come and reside permanently. Under the skilled workers category, one has several options, depending upon the particular destination one may have in mind. There are several sub-categories under the Skilled Workers category

There are certain sub-categories under this category:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Within this category, chosen are those people who display an ability to take part in the Canadian economy once they settle there. FSW workers must not live in Quebec. In order to get in under this category, one will have to use the Express Entry system, which Canada installed on Jan 1, 2015 so that they can facilitate faster processing of applications for permanent residence in Canada, given the huge number of applications they receive every day.

Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP)
The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is for people who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade. And the eligible candidate should either have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a provincial or territorial body. The job offer can be from up to two employers

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Each provinces and territories of Canada has its own right to nominate applicant for Express entry application. Minimum eligibility criteria apply for each province. Feel free to contact us to know your eligibility

Work permit (TRV)
Foreign skilled workers going to work in Canada on Temporary Work Permits. In order to work in Canada on a temporary basis, foreign skilled workers must have a temporary offer of employment from a Canadian employer and be granted a Temporary Work Permit. The migration firm helps you to find job opportunities in Canada through our employment recruitment program and can also get you the work permit once you have the offer of letter

Quebec-Selected Skilled Worker
As aforementioned, FSW workers cannot settle in Quebec. This is for the reason that Quebec has a separate arrangement with the Canadian federal government. To get in as a skilled worker in Quebec, an application is to be made to the Quebec Government, which will assess your application per its own rules. And thereafter, you’ll have to apply to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in order to obtain permanent residence. Part of the procedure includes taking a medical test as well as arrange for police certificates.

The first step into the Express Entry route is the creation of a candidate’s profile where they furnish information with respect to their skills, education, language ability, work experience and other details. Once a candidate starts making a profile, he’s obligated to complete the same within 60 days. The information supplied there will be assessed by the authorities to check if a candidate is eligible under the Express Entry route or not. Given you satisfy the requirements, you’re accepted into a pool of candidates, where candidates are ranked using a points-based system called the CRS or the Comprehensive Ranking System. The highest ranking candidates in the pool are invited to submit an online application for permanent residence. This is to be done within 90 days from the invite. Most applications are processed within 6 months or less.

Following are the eligibility criteria to make it through the Express Entry system

Work experience – The applicant must have at least done continuous paid work in the same type of job as their primary NOC at skill type 0 or skill levels A or B of the 2016 NOC.

Language – The applicant will be required to take either the CELPIP or the IELTS and score at least 7 points on the Canadian Language Benchmark for writing, reading, listening as well as speaking.

Education – If you went to school in Canada, you must have a certification from a Canadian secondary or post-secondary school. In other cases, your educational qualification will undergo an Educational Credential Assessment report from an approved agency to check whether you are amply qualified or not.

IRCC – FSW applicants will have to obtain a minimum of 67 points on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) immigration selection factors, which include age, education, work experience, job offer, language skills (French or English) and how well you’re likely to settle in Canada.

Evidence of sufficient funds must be provided to the immigration authorities so that once you’re in New Zealand you are able to support yourself with respect to the tuition fees and other associated expenses.

Proof of funds – In order to be allowed to move in, the Canadian government will require you to furnish evidence that you have enough money to support yourself and your family so that you don’t become a burden on their economy instead of contributing to the same. The only two exceptions to this requirement are that you must be currently able to legally work in Canada or have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer

Inadmissibility – There are several conditions you must fulfil so that you’re not inadmissible by law. For instance, you must not have a serious health or financial problem or have ties to an organized crime syndicate. You shouldn’t be a security risk to the country and must not lie in your visa application or in your interview and so on.

Migrate Permanently To Canada

Let’s begin with who is a permanent resident status. A permanent resident is a person who is not an ordinary citizen of that country, in our case, Canada but can reside in that country permanently and will not encounter any intervention either by the state or by the ordinary populace. At the same time, a permanent resident does not enjoy every right that an ordinary citizen of Canada does. For instance, he cannot vote or run for political offices or work jobs requiring a high-security clearance. However, as a permanent resident, you are entitled to all the social benefits that Canadians ordinarily get. You are protected under the laws of Canada and can live, work or study anywhere in the country. Additionally, given you meet certain requirements, you can even apply for citizenship. Here we outline the structure of the Canadian visas and the permanent resident status.

In Canada, we have some broad categories of immigrants, which are as follows:
Express entry
Immigrate as a skilled worker through Express Entry. We choose skilled immigrants as permanent residents based on their ability to settle in Canada and take part in our economy. Our system to manage how people with skilled work experience apply to immigrate to Canada is called Express Entry.

Business Immigrants
Canada welcomes people who are capable of running a business or displaying their own risk-taking energies. Canada is projected as one of the best jurisdictions where you can set up a start-up. As a result, investors, self-employed persons as well as entrepreneurs, basically anyone who can make an economic contribution and generate employment directly or indirectly falls within this section.

Skilled Workers
In this category, immigrants are people who have been selected because they meet the specific labour needs as skilled workers. They are selected because the Canadian government trusts their ability to contribute to their economy instead of being a burden on the same. Things that the government takes into consideration are the education, language proficiency and work experience in management and professional jobs.

Get a Business Sponsorship in Australia

An Australian business may sponsor an overseas resident for temporary or permanent resident status. The applicant will be granted a visa, which will allow them to travel to Australia with their family and take up a specified position with the sponsoring company. It is also possible for an overseas business to sponsor a representative to conduct business activities in Australia.

There are certain sub-categories under this category:
Australian Business Sponsorship - Temporary Residence
Australian businesses are allowed to sponsor foreign nationals for a visa by virtue of which such employees will be able to work for them for as long as 4 years. However, this field is highly regulated by the Australian immigration authorities which need to be satisfied that the sponsoring business has an appropriate place available and employing the proposed immigrant is in the best interests of the business. Apropos, the applicant must prove that he or she has the requisite training and skillset required to carry out the task or responsibilities for which they are being employed.

Employer Nomination Scheme - Permanent Residence
Australian businesses are authorized to sponsor potential immigrants for permanent resident status. The applicant must be one with the requisite skills and experience and must have at least three years of formal training and a similar work experience. It is the sponsoring entity which will be responsible for advertising the open position in the labour market and to consider the applications received.

Overseas Business Sponsorship
Overseas Business Sponsorship enables an overseas company to establish a branch office in Australia and thereby establish links with the international economy. This subclass covers business activities involving an overseas connection such as joint ventures, agency distributorships and subsidiary branches. It also covers employment or business required to be undertaken to fulfil the party-obligations under a contract in Australia, which has been awarded, say, to an overseas company.

Do Business In Australia

As per the Business Innovation and Investment Program, the Australian Government is focused on welcoming immigrants who can demonstrate the ability to innovate, invest and do business in Australia. Basically, the Australian government doesn’t want to lose out on people who can generate employment, increase Australian export, increase the production of goods and services in Australia, introduce new/improved technology, increase competition or commercial activity and develop links with the international market. Canada Skilled Worker Visa | Skilled Migration to Canada

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • Work permit (TRV)
  • Quebec-Selected Skilled Worker
