Canada Business Immigration | Business Immigration for Canada

Immigrate To Canada To Do Business

As aforementioned, Canada’s sole goal behind inviting applications to welcome immigrants to attract a human resource that can make a valuable contribution to its economy, grow employment and promote business in the Canadian state. As a result, it has become a hub for migrants willing to move to the west and work and settle. It wouldn’t be misleading if we say that Canada is technically importing high-quality human resource, given the attraction people have towards its geography as well as the business environment it has developed.

Canada Immigration

Under the Business immigration program, there are several heads under which you can get in. They are as follows:

Self-Employed Person

To get in as a self-employed person, the applicant must have at least two years of relevant experience and must display an intention to become a self-employed person after moving in. Additionally, applicants must score a minimum of 35 points on the selection grid so you are proved as a potential economic contributor to Canada’s economy. The selection grid takes the following factors: Education (maximum 25 points), Experience (35 points), Age (10 points max), Language ability in English or French (a maximum of 24 points) and Adaptability (6 points max). The maximum points that can be scored on the grid is 100 out of which a successful candidate will score at least 35%.

Note: As of March 10, 2018, the Canadian government has stopped accepting new applications under the farm management stream under the Self-Employed category.

Start-Up Visa

For entrepreneurs, Canada has in place a separate visa category called the Start-up visa. The motive behind this visa is clear – the Canadian government is trying to promote the start-up culture and thereby the overall business economy. To be eligible under this category, the following are the requirements you must fulfil –
You must have a Letter of Support either from a designated VC fund, Angel Investor Group or Business Incubator.
You must hold at least 10% voting rights in the business and together with the designated investor, you must jointly hold at least 51% voting rights in the business.
You must score at least the Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in writing, reading, listening and speaking French or English or both. This means that if you take the CELPIP, you must score at least a 3L on all the 4 categories. On the other hand, if you are taking the IELTS, you’ll have to score a minimum of 5.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 5.0 on listening, reading, writing and speaking respectively.
You must have a minimum amount of money to support yourself and your family. The minimum amount set for each person depends on the number of family member he has. For instance, for the only person in the family, the amount is set at $12,475 Canadian dollars. For two members, it is $15,531 and so on.

Immigrant Investor

Immigrant Investor – Until recently, Canadian government was accepting applications from people who could make a huge amount of capital investment (at least $2 million) for at least 15 years in Canada. However, presently, the Immigration Department of Canada isn’t accepting new applications under this category.

Note: The requirements one must meet in order to be eligible to work and settle in Quebec are different from the above-stated requirements as Quebec has its own set of norms and rules in place for immigrants under the arrangement it has with the Federal Government.

Study Visa New Zealand | Study In New Zealand

With educational institutions like the University of Auckland, several thousands of students from all corners of the world come to New Zealand to study. If you are one of them, you will require a student visa if the program or course which you are going to pursue in New Zealand is longer than 3 months. If you wish to study for a shorter period like a holiday English program you may only require a visitor visa. If you hail from a visa free country, you won’t require a visa but will have to apply for a student permit after your arrival when you have finalized the course or program you want to take.

In order to obtain a student visa, you must fulfil the following:
You must first narrow down the educational institution from where you want to pursue a program or course which is more than three months long. You must then finalize the course you’ll be studying.
Once you have made up your mind, you should go right ahead and apply to the university where you want to study in New Zealand.
Should your application be accepted by a recognized New Zealand institution, you should provide the evidence of such acceptance in the required field in your visa application.
You must furnish a written guarantee from the said institution that you will be having suitable accommodation in New Zealand once you arrive there.
Evidence of sufficient funds must be provided to the immigration authorities so that once you’re in New Zealand you are able to support yourself with respect to the tuition fees and other associated expenses.
You must either have a return air ticket back to your country of origin or you should display evidence of sufficient funds to guarantee your ability to purchase a ticket when the time comes.

You will have to be checked for tuberculosis if you are spending over 6 months and if for two years, you will have to furnish a police certificate to show proof of your good character if you are more than 17 years old.

There are certain sub-categories under this category:
Fee Paying Student Visa
You will have to pay the full cost of your courses and enroll with an approved education provider. You can study full-time at the course stated on your visa and work part-time up to 20 hours a week during your stays and full time during holidays. This loan or scholarship must be able to provide you with enough support while you’re in New Zealand. The work conditions remain the same as the fee paying student visa.

Limited Purpose Student Visa
As a diligent student, it is possible that you may have done some basic research on whether you are eligible for a regular student visa or not. The immigration authorities of New Zealand may encounter the fact that you are not able to fulfil all the requirements of a regular student visa, in which case you can apply for a limited purpose student visa. Insufficiency may originate in lack of sufficient documentation and other such reasons. If you are able to fulfil the required legalities of a limited purpose student visa, you may obtain the same under which although you are not having the same rights as under a regular student visa, you’ll be able to pursue some short duration courses as full fee paying student in New Zealand. You must show sufficient proof of your financial soundness so that you are able to support yourself during your stay.

Sponsor Family To Canada | Canada Migration

If you have a relative who is at least 18 years old and is a Canadian citizen or a person registered as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or a permanent resident of Canada, your said relative has the ability to sponsor you to study, live and work in Canada. The sponsor must be able to show that he or she isn’t on social assistance except for disability(ies) and is obligated to provide for the basic needs of the person he or she is sponsoring so that once again, there is no unnecessary burden on the Canadian economy.

You can sponsor several different kinds of relatives, which are as follows:

Spouse, Common-Law Partner or Conjugal partner

Spouse is a person with whom you are legally married. Canadian law doesn’t discriminate between opposite and same marriages. A Common-law partner is a person who has been living together with another for at least a year. Conjugal partner, is a person outside Canada having a binding relationship with the sponsor for a year at least but can’t live with their partner. A sponsor can help any of these persons to migrate to Canada.

Parents and Grandparents

An eligible sponsor may be able to have his/her parents or grandparents to come to Canada as a permanent resident given the sponsor can financially support them and ensure that they don’t need social assistance from the Canadian government. As a corollary of this, the sponsor must be able to provide for himself.

Adopted Children and Other Relatives

Eligible sponsors can help their adopted children and other relatives as well given they meet the obligation to support them when they arrive and provide them as well as oneself with basic needs without depending on any social assistance from the government.

Inadmissibility – There are several conditions you must fulfil so that you’re not inadmissible by law. For instance, you must not have a serious health or financial problem or have ties to an organized crime syndicate. You shouldn’t be a security risk to the country and must not lie in your visa application or in your interview and so on.

Basically, the Australian government doesn’t want to lose out on people who can generate employment, increase Australian export, increase the production of goods and services in Australia, introduce new/improved technology, increase competition or commercial activity and develop links with the international market. In order to facilitate easy migration for such potential immigrants, Australia has in place several visa categories on which we are to elaborate hereinbelow:

Get a Business Sponsorship in Australia

AUSTRALIA
An Australian business may sponsor an overseas resident for temporary or permanent resident status. The applicant will be granted a visa, which will allow them to travel to Australia with their family and take up a specified position with the sponsoring company. It is also possible for an overseas business to sponsor a representative to conduct business activities in Australia.

There are certain sub-categories under this category:

Australian Business Sponsorship - Temporary Residence
Australian businesses are allowed to sponsor foreign nationals for a visa by virtue of which such employees will be able to work for them for as long as 4 years. However, this field is highly regulated by the Australian immigration authorities which need to be satisfied that the sponsoring business has an appropriate place available and employing the proposed immigrant is in the best interests of the business. Apropos, the applicant must prove that he or she has the requisite training and skillset required to carry out the task or responsibilities for which they are being employed.

Employer Nomination Scheme - Permanent Residence
Australian businesses are authorized to sponsor potential immigrants for permanent resident status. The applicant must be one with the requisite skills and experience and must have at least three years of formal training and a similar work experience. It is the sponsoring entity which will be responsible for advertising the open position in the labour market and to consider the applications received.

Overseas Business Sponsorship
Overseas Business Sponsorship enables an overseas company to establish a branch office in Australia and thereby establish links with the international economy. This subclass covers business activities involving an overseas connection such as joint ventures, agency distributorships and subsidiary branches. It also covers employment or business required to be undertaken to fulfil the party-obligations under a contract in Australia, which has been awarded, say, to an overseas company.
